Classes for Kids

At Playhouse Greenhouse, we’re growing great things: the very best in theater, dance, and voice training for the Greater Bridgeport Community at an affordable cost. We offer fun classes for young thespians between the ages of 5 and 15 years old that boost confidence, cooperation & self-control while teaching the fundamentals of theater arts.

Our classes start Wednesday, September 16th and run through December 17th, with no classes the week of Thanksgiving.

Schedule
Weekly Thursday classes starting September 17
4PM-4:45PM: Musical Theater Dance for ages 5-8, Voice for ages 9 and up
4:45PM-5:30PM: Musical Theater Dance for ages 9 and up, Voice for ages 5-8
5:30PM-6:15PM: Acting for ages 5-8, Acting for ages 9 and up

Weekly Wednesday classes starting September 16
5:15PM-6PM: Teen Acting for High School Students

Monthly Tuition
1 course per month: $45
2 courses per month: $80 - Save $10 per month!
3 courses per month: $115 - Save $20 per month!
(We also offer semester packages for all 4 months with even deeper discounts)

Beginning Tap Master Class
Saturday, October 24

Eli Newsom, Instructor

Get an overview of the basics of one of the most enjoyable forms of dance in this one-day workshop taught by creator of the highly-rated instructional DVD series Tap Dance Made Easy (and Bridgeport resident), Eli Newsom. This beginning tap dance workshop will de-mystify basic tap dance terminology such as shuffles, flaps, stomps, stamps and other basic steps in a non-competitive atmosphere. No experience or tap shoes required!

Singing for Musical Theater Master Class
Saturday, November 21

In this technique workshop, you will learn the anatomy of your vocal chords and how to keep them healthy, warm-ups and exercises to strengthen your voice and increase your range, and how to connect the bridges of your voice to get rid of that dreaded “break!”

The World of Musical Theater: Sights and Sounds of Broadway

Do you love Broadway musicals? This fascinating class indulges your passion as you explore the origins and development of musical theater and how it pertains to the latest hits on the Great White Way. Share your favorite musical theater experience with the class and discover shows you never knew existed!

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY

The safety of you and your family is of the utmost importance to us at Playhouse Greenhouse.

If, due to inclement weather (snow, hail, black ice, etc.), area schools are closed or dismissed early, Playhouse Greenhouse classes will be cancelled for the day. Playhouse Greenhouse classes will not be cancelled if there is delayed opening due to inclement weather, or if schools are closed or dismissed early for other reasons (report cards, administrative trainings, etc).

Cancelled classes will be made up through a Weekend Workshop (usually on a Saturday) later in the month, with details available the following week.

We will make every effort to contact registered students personally, via phone and email, and will additionally post our closing on News 12 Connecticut. Thank you!
